Charter/Ferry, Deep South, Early, Evening, Late, Morning, Midday, On Duty All Night, Red-Eye, Rocket, Shuttle, Split Duty, Trailing Redeye, Transcon, Transoceanic.

Charter/Ferry - A pairing containing a flight number in the 9000 series.

Deep South - Airports South of the equator in South America except GYE, MAO, UIO.

Early - A pairing that contains any duty period report time between 0400 - 0659 HBT.

Evening - A pairing in which all duty period report times are at or after 1500 HBT and all duty periods terminate before 2300 HBT.

Late - A pairing in which all duty period report times are at or after 1500 HBT and at least one duty period terminates between 2300 - 0659 HBT.

Midday - A pairing in which all duty period report times are between 1000 and 1559 HBT AND at least one report time is between 1000 and 1459 HBT and all duty periods terminate before 2300 HBT.

Morning - A pairing in which all duty period report times are between 0700 and 1159 HBT and at least one report time is between 0700 and 0959 HBT.

On Duty All Night (ODAN) -

ODAN is a single, stand-alone (1) duty period that is not incorporated with any other duty periods.
ODAN Includes all of the on-duty hours between 0100 and 0500 HBT and is limited to 2 flight or deadhead segments.
No hotel is provided. Buffer:
No Waiver ODAN – On Duty All Night (0100 – 0500HBT)
Awarded or Assigned in a group at least 2 in a row and no more than 3 in a row.
Work block must be pure ODAN and / or Split Duty pairings.
2 calendar days off after the work block
Must bid Allow Same Day Pairing to be awarded.

Redeye - A multiple duty period pairing (including Transoceanic) containing a duty period with both: (1) a report time prior to 0330 HBT (including prior to midnight) and, (2) an arrival time of the final flight (live or deadhead) at or after 0400 HBT and/or 0400 local time.

Rocket - A Transoceanic or Deep South pairing that contains at least 1 Redeye flight duty period and a layover of less than 18 hours.

Shuttle - A shuttle pairing is a pairing consisting solely of live or deadhead flight segments between the following city pairs: DCA/LGA, DCA/BOS, BOS/LGA.

Split Duty - a single, stand-alone duty period that is not incorporated with any other duty periods. Duty begins before 0100 HBT and ends after 0500 HBT, and is limited to 2 flight or deadhead segments with intervening rest of at least 3 hours at the hotel.

Transoceanic - A pairing that originates in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, or North America and terminates at a different continent.

Trailing Redeye - A pairing whose final duty period has both: (1) a report time prior to 0330 HBT (including prior to midnight) and, (2) an arrival time of the final flight (live or deadhead) at or after 0400 HBT and/or 0400 local time.

Transcon - A pairing in which all duty periods meet these criteria: (1) one segment per duty period, (2) each segment has a flight time greater than 4.5 hours, (3) a GMT offset between stations of 3 or more hours. Exception: During the period of time when Daylight Savings time is not observed in other parts of the country, the GMT offset shall be 2 hours ONLY for pairings that originate or terminate in PHX.
